The Amazing Dinner in Chilis Empire Subang

Chilis have never failed to impress me with their food…. I went to their outlet in Empire Subang, a new mall located in Subang Jaya for dinner yesterday. We have to wait for a while before we were seated. I would say the distance between the chair and table is a bit small thus make it uneasy for my friend who is a bit plus size so if you are also not so petite, I would advice you to get the middle table where its more spacious.

Soon we ordered our meal- Chilis Grilled Lamb Shank (RM29.90++) and Classic Chicken Fajitas (RM32.90++). As for our drinks, we had the bottomless ice lemon tea (RM6.95++) and ice water (FOC!!!). The food arrived in glimpse of seconds and it looks for delicious.

The Grilled Lamb Shank comes with vibrant color steam vegetables which consist of carrots and broccoli. They also give a big share of mash potato top with sour cream with dash of minced bacon. The potato skin is still intact in the mashes; I don’t feel the skin company at all as the mashes smooth and milky taste is good enough to cover up the skin presence. Just nice!!! The lamb shank is cooked to well done. The tenderness of the lamb accompany by the juice is just an amazing experience. Take a small bite and you will fall in love with it. Added with a fresh baked garlic bread.... just a word to express the meal- PERFECTO!!
PERFECTO~~~

Chilis fajitas are served with warm tortillas (steam thin bread), sour cream, house-made pico de gallo and ancho-ranch dressing. Since I had the classic chicken fajitas, thus my side dishes would include chicken cooked with bell-pepper and a lot of onion cooked in hot plate. Spread the delicate cream and the dressing to the warm tortilla, put the freshly cooked chicken slice on top of it and adjoin the bell pepper and onions. VOILA!!! Luscious… the blended taste is just remarkable…… Thou they only served with 3 tortillas but don’t be shy to ask for me. It’s free of charge. All you need is to ask and they are ready to serve you more. They act according to their tag line- 'Like No Place Else®'
Delectable......

Service there is averagely OK but better than their other outlet in Mid Valley and KLCC. They are one particular lady that I want to compliment for her attentiveness. She is alert on her surroundings. She aids the customer in swift way. Kudos to the curvy Chinese lady who is in charge of the front desk. She make up my Sunday dinner and it ends well my weekend. Thank you…..

Bar BQ Plaza, a Plaza for satisfaction

Stump upon a shop by the restaurant of Bar BQ Plaza in Sunway Pyramid, KL on my shopping day. It has a cute little greeny dinosaur in front of their shop which catches the attention of passerby. It’s actually inwards to Malaysia from our neighborhood country, Thailand.

Cutey standing to pose with cute monster

It was a weekend thus a little wait is required but quickly we were seated at their cozy eatery. The seats are a little constricting. Gosh! I wonder how a bit plus size people going to sit in the seat for the whole meal.

Judging from the name, one would anticipate a BBQ set being place in front of you for your own cooking but no!!!! It’s a combination of BBQ and steamboat at the side of the golden plated iron cookware. The cookware looks shiny. I wonder how many times the scrub the ware to make it this sparkly.
Shiny sparking cookware

There are abundance of choices ranging from pork, beef, seafood and mixture of it. All the choices are complement with a lot of vegetables. It’s pretty healthy looking at the portion of vegetables being served. And all the meals come with white rice or you can change it to garlic rice with additional charges to your bill (additional RM1.50 each). I spoilt myself with mix family set (largeeee set) (RM49.90). Yummy!!!! Foods served within seconds. Guess it's all prepared at the back waiting for orders to be taken ou. Great!!! Well, it's time to enjoy my delicious meal.
The choices that is so tempting

First, put 2 pieces of fats on top of the cookware to let the oil dissolved. Later, rub the fats around the cookware to evenly spread the oil and you can start cooking the thin layered meat. Delicious I must say. Later the vegetables are being placed on the side of the cookware. The side of it contains the chicken soup. Light at first the taste of the soup but after a few dip of the vegetable, the soup is absolutely delicious and sweet.
Isn't this healthy and scrumptious meal

Oh! Their sauces are superb. The thick brownish sweet sauce is being served to all the customers. Chilies, lime and garlic are given on separate sauce plate to be added inside to the sauce. I'm not big fan of garlic so I pass to be included in my sauce. The combination of the sweet sour spicy sauce with the meat and the vegetable is great.
Tasty sauce

I would surely visit the restaurant again. Good food! Kudos!!!! Just one thing that you have to be patience, their service..... maybe shortage of manpower, the server need to be reminded to refill your water and sauces. Just get them to do and they are more willing to assist. That's what the 10% service charges we paid for.... assistance with smile....

Icey Monster on Breezy Day in Taipei

The weather is now 18 degree Celsius with wind blowing like craze but it’s almost the end of my trip in Taipei and I have yet to try the famous ice monster there. It’s a food that should not be missed when you are in Taipei and with such weather should I forgo? NOOOOO~~~

It’s a stretched walk after the MRT station. About 20 minutes I guess and here I am in front of the famous shop.
Me in front of the famouse ice monster shop.
Apologize for the messy hair. Windy day!

They are well-known for the mango ice monster and I am a bit so spoilt by the choices available thus I ordered the mix and match aka fresh fruit mix shave- a combination of red pinky strawberry, bright green kiwi and sparkling orange yellowish mango cactus coco. It cost NWT160. It is a bit expensive compared to what I have seen in other places in Taipei but.... let's give it a try since it’s a popular shop. According to them, due to the in availability of mangoes during this season they trade their famous mango to mango flavored cactus coco. Its taste good thou but cactus coco is something cheap where else mango is costly if too compared. Why are they still charging same price?
Mix tempting mix shave

Back to the mix fruit shave that I have ordered… the fruit are fresh and it’s sweet, juicy and chewy for the mango cactus coco. They top their famous ice monster with thick condensed milk and lastly mango ice cream to top the mountain high monster..... Honestly, it such a big portion for 1 people to finish.
Too big for me? Let's see.....

It is so windy outside that I am cursing while eating it. A part of me wanted to finish it but a part of me wanted to skip it. The food is way too good to be wasted so I ended up finish it all by myself.
My advice, go during other season because they are famous for the mango shave and you will not get to try it during this season and talking about the worth to pay, it’s not worth during this season too.

Pleasing Breakfast in Taipei

Breakfast o Breakfast... Where are you? You are the one i need to start my day...

I search around with the wise guy- the internet! And found this place which is located inside a wet market. So i decided to jump on the easy accessible MRT and head to this place.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
That’s my first reaction when i reach the place. It’s located on the 2nd floor of the wet market and you would never guess the queue when I reach the shop. Such a shop would attract that much of people? Hell they do.....

Waited in the queue for another 30 minutes before i place my order..... Yummy!!! my turn to choose the food... The menu is all in chinese which is too bad but they are nice enough to offer you their advice. Nice people and service is fast.... Despite the crowd, the crew their still put on a happy face .. It worth the wait and my time to travel there.

My o my.. thats my breakfast!

Salty tofu is new to me. It taste like steam egg but slightly watery and comes with bit of vegetable inside the tofu. You can choose to add chilies oil on top which I did because I saw everyone doing the same. I guess it’s how you eat this dish. The tofu is soft and the vegetable are cut into small pieces and the crispiness of the vegetable with a little of soy sauce in it make this dish so appetizing.

The delicious watery salty tofu

The crispy bread ('sao ping') is another must try food when you are there. You can choose either the think or the thin bread as your bread. This dish is complimented with fried long doughnut ('you tiau'). The doughnut and the bread are made on spot for the customer. However I find their doughnut could be better. It’s not so crispy as I wish it is.

Thin layer crispy bread aka Sao Ping

I also order wrapped rice 'fan tuan'. It’s one of many popular dishes in Taiwan. The rice is wrapping in plastic. In between the rice, there are crispy doughnut, chicken floss and salty vegetables. Its one inviting dishes to be honest.

The famous local delicacies- Fan Tuan

Their soya bean is smooth as baby skin and the aroma of the soya is enticing. It’s something not to be missed when you are there.
The so soft soya bean

Honestly, thumbs up for their food and service but be prepared for the long queue especially on weekend and public holidays. It’s full of Taiwanese feel of delicacies. Best part, the foods are fresh from oven..... Or the barrel
